Being “digital” means that information is represented with values, typically in the form of binary (1s and 0s). This is the opposite of analog, which is a continuous signal in a smooth format. Digital systems break up information to be processed, transmitted, and stored much more efficiently. This has allowed for the advancements in AI to be platformed. Digital also means that the information is simplified rather than being a perfect copy. This ties back to the efficient processing and storage. So despite it not being a perfect copy, it still represents this information as intended.
